On 26 November 1866 Jean Baptiste Dauderny buys the region of Blomac, consisting of a splendid castle, extensive rural buildings, and farmhouse, distillery, winery, stables, park, garden, surroundings, vineyards, borders, and other real estate of an area of some 504 acres . Dauderny is the engineer and is originally from Belgium. (born in 1827) Mr D. was involved in constructing many railway lines and harbours. Ferdinant de Lesseps persuaded him to work on the Panama canal. That is where he dies of yellow fever. In those days the French engineers were famous for their knowledge of steel constructions.
